Try morris dancing

We’re always on the look-out for men interested in having a go at morris dancing.

No previous experience of morris dancing is necessary and there’s no commitment to join the team. We were all beginners once and we’ll help you have a go at some of our dances at your own pace.

We realise that life sometimes gets in the way of the things we like to do in our spare time. That’s fine – this is a hobby, not a job. We usually know when we’re dancing out or have a weekend away well in advance, allowing you to plan around these if they are things you want to take part in. You can read more about the ethos of the team here.

Our practice sessions run from September through to April, so the best time for new dancers to join us is at the start of this period, allowing plenty of time to learn the dances ready for the following Summer. If you are interested in finding out more about us the best thing to do is come see us at one of our dance outs at pubs around Sheffield over Summer. This will give you a chance to see the dances for yourself and have a chat and get to know the team.

Alternatively, get in touch if you’d like to have an informal chat about joining, or even better if you’ve already made up your mind and want to let us know to expect you at our next practice session!

Practices

Practices are every Thursday, 8 – 9:30 at the Burton Street Foundation, 57 Burton St, Sheffield, South Yorkshire S6 2HH. There’s plenty of free parking and it’s close to the New Barracks Tavern for post-practice refreshment!
